This is the time for Christians to come together to call upon Jesus to guide us through unprecedented struggles, and thank Him for the blessings of freedom we so richly enjoy. America’s issues are not primarily financial or political. Neither does America’s hope lie in one leader or institution. Our hope is found in the One who desires for us to turn to Him with all our hearts. Join us as we call on Jesus on behalf of America, that He might hear our cry and heal our land. As you pray these prayers, ask God to filly your heart with love for our city/Cleveland while keeping in mind that His love covers a multitude of sin.

1) Lord, you say that a kingdom or a city divided against itself cannot stand (Matthew 12:25). God would you stand against Satan's attempts to make people experience unresolved anger or guilt that leads to division. As your church, we ask that you bind our city together in love. Jesus, Make us one in the Father as you are one in Him so that the world may know that you were sent by Him. God, bring us to complete unity so that the world will know that we are loved by you in the same way that you love the Son (John 17:21-23).

2) Holy Spirit we ask that you focus the minds of public officials and your church on the need for prayer this week. Would you give them wisdom and knowledge for each decision they make, especially regarding the safety of others. Remind us all that it is you who gives us peace and not as the world gives.

 3) Father we ask you to break the strong holds the enemy has against our city. We ask for you to protect Cleveland and be the deliverer, refuge and stronghold of this city. Let not your people be afraid of terror by night nor of the arrow that flies by day (Psalms 91:5). Defend this city for your names sake.

 4) In these times of sorrow around the world we ask for you to bring hope in our city. Jesus make Cleveland a city set on a hill whose light cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14). In this city we ask you to bind up the broken hearted, proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners. In this city will you bestow a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair (Isaiah 61). We ask this in your name Jesus.
